It's the furthest I have ever gone. Mainly because I took a wrong turn. Darn A3.
Running Apps
I'm going to put some more serious thoughts down eventually¹ but for now here is a short review sweep:
- Couch to 5k: fabulously helpful (I used it alongside the Nike app for a map assist recording that I screengrabbed for my own posterity). This baby was good enough to get me into a regular and disciplined method. I didn't complete it and I repeated a few weeks cos I felt like it. I praise these boys for a good job. I am now beyond it but feel thankful as you can tell from all this honey. - Nike GPS: good but basic, the info sharing/accessing is a little stuck up it's own proprietary formatting. - Run Keeper: decent in virtually every way. Main pain: volume control - being deafened by a robot is never good for a six miles seafront sojourn. Great website sync. Feels open. Feels humble and faithful. - Strands: seemed good at first but then crashed twice and ruined my run. Plus the voice is properly bizarre-toilet-recording. Runkeeper it is. Hearing aids are cheaper these days. ¹I should also say that I have a history of being jinxed by technology and running. The moment I get public in any way I seems to run into problems. Not this time sucker! I have been going for a few solid months. Tim Neale Did It
Just.
Scratching beneath the surface: will Tim make it to the big 3?Earlier I posted Tim Neale's had announcement that he had run 2.9 miles. On further reflection I think celebration is hardly appropriate. We should get behind him to help him reach the 3 mile barrier. Congratulations Tim Neale!According to a tweet posted this morning, Tim
This is a fabulous result Tim! Well done. I think we can all join in with celebration for this momentous achievement. |
